Synology Doubles Growth in Singapore as Data Becomes the New Gold

As data becomes the new currency of growth, Synology is helping businesses stay secure, connected, and competitive in the digital economy.

Taiwan-headquartered Synology marked 25 successful years in business with its first media briefing in Singapore on 6 November 2025 – sharing insights from its 2025 Digital Transformation Trend Survey and unveiling its latest innovations for modern businesses.

Speaking with Brilliant-Online, Thachawan Chinchanakarn, Head of Southeast Asia at Synology, shared that oil used to be the world's most valuable resource – but today, data has become the new gold, sitting at the heart of every organisation.

“Whether you’re a small business with a few servers or a large enterprise, data will keep growing. You need scalable storage to contain it, robust protection to safeguard it, and secure access so your teams can collaborate efficiently anywhere,” she said.

Almost all industries – from large enterprises and mid-sized businesses to smaller players such as F&B chains, education centres, and creative firms – are generating and sharing more data than ever before. Over the past five years, Synology has achieved 100% growth in Singapore, reflecting the nation’s rapid digitalisation and the rising need for reliable, scalable data management.

The data explosion is also reshaping Southeast Asia. According to Synology’s 2025 Digital Transformation Trend Survey, nearly 90% of businesses in the region have already invested in digital transformation – not just as a plan, but as a strategic commitment. However, challenges remain, with 85% still in early stages. While more than half have experienced cyberattacks, only one in five expressed confidence in their ability to recover.
